Interpretation and Truth

Books are understood differently by different people. It does not follow from this that it is therefore unwise to adopt a particular interpretation. We ought to accept the interpretation we think is best. This requires the effort to differentiate better interpretations from worse ones. Among the different interpretations a few are closer to the truth than others. The real challenge is to determine which of these interpretations is the closest to the truth. Then, for all practical purposes, one should adopt the most accurate  interpretation.  It is easier to say this than to do this, because people will once again disagree on which interpretation is the most accurate or genuine.
